I’m melting…………………on Friday, as usual, I handed over Owen to Mom after nursing and kissed him goodbye.  As I waved him goodbye, he held my gaze and continue to turn his little head to follow me as I headed toward the door.  Mom exclaimed that he’s starting to want Mommy (me); to test out her theory, she deliberately repositioned Owen so that his back is towards me, but little Owen quickly turned around, doing a 90 degree turn, to look at me.  I was ecstatic because my little angel wants me!!!

I have always known that he recognizes me and according to the book, prefers me, but I have never seen proof of the latter until Friday!  Later during the day, when I was leaving after lunch and after saying goodbye to my little prince and turned around to go, he actually whimpered/cried!  I have such mixed feelings about his new anxiety when I am not around - happy to know that my baby wants and prefers me, but sad that it will make it that much harder to leave every morning now!

Trust me, this is true, Owen’s first word is out, and it is “baba”, loud and clear, and it is repeatable!

I was all excited in the beginning when I heard that, baby was smiling at me/looking at me and said that. but the excitement doesn’t last long… because a few minutes later while the mom hold Owen, he smiled at mom/looked at the mom and said “baba”… I hope Owen knows what that word means Being a very positive person, I have to assume that is giving credit and recognition to the dad’s hard work.
Anyhow, hope everyone can enjoy the great achievement of Owen and I’d like to celebrate that with the new addition to Owen’s photo portfolio.. we just took it this morning!
